Lubricus® FireSafe 46
HF-C Type Fire Resistance Hydraulic Fluid
Description
Lubricus® FireSafe 46 is a water-glycol type fire resistance hydraulic fluid of ISO VG 46 grade. It is designed to replace conventional mineral oils and polyolester based hydraulic fluids in hydraulic systems operate in environment where potential fire hazard exists in case of a hydraulic leak. Lubricus® FireSafe 46 meets Group 1 (HF-C) requirement.
Lubricus® FireSafe 46 possesses good anti wear, excellent corrosion protection in both liquid and vapor phase, excellent viscosity-temperature characteristic and chemical stability. With proper fluid maintenance, it has practically unlimited service life.
Lubricus® FireSafe 46 is an environmentally fluid as it is biodegradable to a high extent, easy to handle and non-toxic. The fluid components meet the requirement of FDA Specification 21 CFR 178.3570. It does not contain PCB or other chlorinated or brominated components.
Benefits
- Good lubricity and anti-wear properties
- Excellent corrosion protection
- Safe and non-toxic
- Long service life
- Readily biodegradable
Applications
Lubricus® FireSafe 46 is suitable for all types of hydraulic systems that require HF-C or water-glycol type hydraulic fluids. It is widely used in steel and iron-making continuous casting, hot rolling, forging, and die-casting equipment. Due to its water-soluble and biodegradable properties, it is also recommended for use in hydraulic systems in water or sewage treatment facilities.
Compatibility
Lubricus® FireSafe 46 is compatible with most seal and hose materials. Natural and polyurethane elastomers and materials that soften and swell in the presence of water should not be used. When choosing Firesafe 46, please make sure the system is designed for HF-C water-glycol fluid.
Lubricus® FireSafe 46 is compatible with most metallic materials such as steels, cast iron, copper, brass, bronze and anodized aluminum, which are usually applied in mineral oil based hydraulic systems. But lead, zinc, magnesium and cadmium are best avoided. All water glycols fluids would soften and strip off paints. Tanks internally coating / paint should be removed before filling of water-glycol type of fire-resistant fluids. Stainless steel tank cover is recommended.
INCOMPATIBILITY
Zinc**, Magnesium, Cadmium, Lead
**Zinc and Zinc alloys should not be used in water glycol systems as small quantity of zinc may be dissolved in the alkaline aqueous system, forming zinc hydroxide or soap that may block filters.
Available Pack Size
In 209L drums & 1,000L IBC.
